We hold a current business license through the State of Oregon, Department of Agriculture.
We have passed our state inspection and received our shipping permit for 2020. (Update for 2021 coming soon!)
To the best of our knowledge, our dahlias/tubers are true to name and free from dangerous pests and diseases.
Payment: We require full payment at the time of your order so that your choices can be placed on hold in our storage area until they are ready to ship. We use PayPal for shopping cart checkout.
Other Payment Options: (1) By phone with a credit card. We use Square to process payments. Orders are not considered secured until payment has processed. (2) By mail with a check. Returned check fees are $25.00. Please include the name of the Dahlia, how many you want to order, and your mailing address and phone number.
Gift Certificates: We accept phone orders with a credit card or you may mail a check made out to Lazy Day Dahlias. Contact us to place your order and we will mail you a certificate. To redeem, please send us your certificate with your order. You may email or call us to get your selections placed on hold for you.
Storage: In the fall and/or winter, we dig, divide, clean and store our tubers until the shipping/planting season. That way we can make sure the tubers have survived the storage process and are showing good eyes (indication of growth).
Shipping: Due to complex processes within each country, we are not able to ship outside of the U.S.A. We use USPS priority mail to ship anywhere in the United States. The shipping cost for the first tuber is $8.30 + .30 for each additional tuber.
If you decide to order online and pick-up your order in person, please select the local/pick-up feature during the check out process so the system doesn’t charge you a shipping fee. If you forget to use that feature, we can issue a refund for your shipping charge. If you place more than one order, please make note in the cart comment section if order no. 2, 3, etc., so we can combine your orders to ship together and issue any shipping credit that may apply.
We usually begin shipping in April in the order payment was received. However, we will begin shipping this year (2021) in late March. You will receive planting and care instructions with your order. If you prefer to receive your order in person, we will contact you when your order is ready for pick-up.
Early Shipping: If you prefer to store the tubers yourself and request early shipment (prior to April 1st of the planting year), please let us know at the time of your order. Please make note that should you choose this option, our refund/guarantee policy will not apply due to possible freezing temperatures during the mail process and the storage process becoming your responsibility.
Cancellations: We understand that sometimes a no charge cancellation may be necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. However, if you need to cancel due to a change of heart, please be mindful that your variety choices may have been removed from inventory as ‘sold out’ and therefore made unavailable to other potential customers. There will be a 20% charge for an admin/restocking fee. If you have an emergency, please contact us for instructions on how we may be able to assist you with this subject.
Refunds: If your Dahlia doesn’t sprout within 5 weeks of planting, please let us know as soon as possible. Notification deadline is October 1st of the planting year. We offer a choice of either a 100% refund or replacement of non-sprouting tubers under the conditions of this policy. If you choose a replacement option, the tuber(s) will be sent the following growing season with either the same dahlia as originally purchased or your choice of a new variety of equal value.
We will contact you for refund or replacement options if we feel that for any reason, your variety choice is not available. This may be due to the tuber not making it through the storage period due to rot or, not producing a live eye or, has been discontinued or sold out.
Guarantees do not cover customer negligence, problems caused by animals, pests/insects, rodents, acts of Mother Nature, or plant performance in the following planting and/or storage seasons.
If you feel you did not receive the dahlia variety you ordered, please contact us immediately so that we can replace your order at no additional charge or issue you a refund if the variety is no longer available. We will do our best to provide the dahlia variety that is true to its name and the color that you feel you ordered.
Please note that color interpretations may differ. What we refer to as coral, you may view as more pink. We do our best to provide a color photo true to actual Dahlia color but sometimes may slightly vary depending on lighting or stage of blooming. We highly recommend reading the Dahlia description that we provide. Additionally, shades of color may differ depending on many variables such as the balance of nutrients in your soil and Mother Nature. Some varieties hold their color well in extreme heat conditions and some may fade. We pride ourselves on providing as much education as possible and ultimately it is our goal to ensure that you have an overall enjoyable experience.
